Connecting leaders, resources, and the gospel
The apostle Paul often worked across great distances. Through letters, trusted coworkers, and personal visits, he encouraged believers, shared resources, and strengthened churches separated by geography, language, and culture.
Today, many of those same challenges still exist.
As I work with WELS World Missions, I have the opportunity to connect with church leaders, missionaries, and students from many different parts of the world. Although each ministry setting is unique, a common theme continues to emerge. Many people are eager to learn, grow, and share the gospel, but access to trusted resources, training opportunities, and meaningful connections can sometimes be limited.
In some places, leaders are asking for theological resources in their own language. In others, there is a desire for additional training, stronger connections with fellow believers, or easier ways to participate in Bible studies and learning opportunities. Technology cannot replace the work of local churches and pastors, but it can help bring people and resources together in ways that were difficult to imagine only a few years ago.

Part of my work involves exploring how digital tools can support gospel ministry around the world. This includes helping develop online learning opportunities, improving access to theological resources, investigating translation solutions, and assisting with projects like the Lutheran Leaderās Companion. The goal is not simply to build websites or use new technology. The goal is to support people who are carrying out gospel ministry in their local communities.
One of the most encouraging aspects of this work is seeing how God continues to open doors. Conversations that once would have required extensive travel can now happen across continents. Resources can be shared with people who may never have had access to them before. Leaders serving in very different parts of the world can learn from one another and encourage one another in their work.
At the same time, these opportunities remind us that the mission remains unchanged. Technology may change. Methods may change. Communication tools may change. But the message remains the same: Jesus Christ lived, died, and rose again to save sinners.

As we look toward the future, there are exciting opportunities to make resources more accessible, strengthen connections among church leaders, and support gospel outreach in new ways. We pray that God would bless these efforts and use them to strengthen his church wherever his people are gathered.
Thank you for your prayers and support of world missions. Through your partnership, the gospel continues to reach people across languages, cultures, and continents. It is a privilege to witness how God is using both traditional ministry and new opportunities to connect people with the saving message of Christ. Visit Lutheran Leaderās Companion to learn more.
