Believe / Know the Way Home – November 23, 2025
One key truth: Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. When our hearts feel troubled or uncertain, we can find peace knowing Jesus is preparing a place for us and guiding us home.
āDo not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Fatherās house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.ā
Thomas said to him, āLord, we donāt know where you are going, so how can we know the way?ā
Jesus answered, āI am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.ā
John 14:1-6
Believe / Know the Way Home
Life can feel confusing at times. You may begin to wonder what is in your futureāwhat college to choose, who your real friends are, or how you will figure out adult life without a roadmap. Thatās exactly the kind of worry Jesusā disciples were feeling in John 14. He looks at them with love and says, āDonāt let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.ā
Jesus doesnāt just brush off their fearāhe speaks right into it. He reminds them that they have something solid to hold onto: faith in him. Then he shares an incredible promise: āMy Fatherās house has many rooms… I am going there to prepare a place for you.ā Imagine thatāJesus is personally getting your forever home ready! When the disciples start to doubt whether they actually āknow the way,ā Jesus brings it home: āI am the way, the truth, and the life.ā
Jesus isnāt one of many paths to God; heās the only one. Faith in him isnāt just believing somethingāitās trusting someone whoās already leading you home.
So when your heart feels heavy with fear, anxiety, or loneliness, remember this: Jesus isnāt just preparing a place for you somedayāheās walking beside you right now. He is the way home, both in this life and forever.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank you for being the way, the truth, and the life. When my heart feels anxious or afraid, help me to trust that you are in control and preparing a place for me.
