United in Christ, sharing the gospel

United in Christ, sharing the gospel

Only 8 percent of the 4.5 billion people in Asia and Oceania know Jesus as their Savior. That staggering reality brought together 72 church leaders, missionaries, and partners from 14 countries for the Asia-Oceania Convention of the Confessional Evangelical Lutheran Conference (CELC), held June 9–13 in Bali, Indonesia. Under the theme “That All May Hear and Believe,” this in-person gathering offered encouragement, connection, and practical tools for gospel ministry across the region. WELS missionaries and international partners left uplifted, reminded that they are not alone—and that the fields truly are ripe for harvest.

LWMS Convention held in Tulsa, Okla.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 62nd Annual Lutheran Women's Missionary Society (LWMS) Convention in Tulsa, Okla.! What an amazing weekend it was learning about WELS Home and World Missions and all the work being done. Many missionaries (pictured above) joined the LWMS Convention to speak about their gospel ministry. The attendees learned just how unique each home and world mission field is.

Enhancement: Saint Mark Mankato, Mankato, Minn.

Over the past three years, Saint Mark Mankato has experienced steady growth, with weekly worship attendance increasing from 97 to 130 and membership rising from 200 to 283. During this time, the congregation celebrated 24 adult confirmations, with even more expected. With 168 names on its prospect list, Saint Mark Mankato is seeking short-term Home Missions support to hire a manager of ministry, which would allow the pastor to dedicate more time to outreach and further strengthen this growing ministry.
