From learners to leaders: the global impact of TELL

From learners to leaders: the global impact of TELL

“Welcome. Hello, Arase. Hello, Ayorinde. Hi there, Effiong."

Learning to pronounce foreign names correctly is a small challenge—one of many faced in global ministry. But as I greet each student signing in for our third TELL Student Recognition Celebration, I’m reminded of something greater: the diverse, determined students who are stepping up to lead others to Christ. . .

Read more from Rev. Nate Seiltz, Director of Multi-Language Productions, as he shares more about training leaders and equipping them to share the gospel and plant churches worldwide.

Support the Taste of Missions offering

You can support musical assistance grants for home mission congregations as part of the Taste of Missions offering! Home mission congregations are not always blessed with a pipe organ or even a piano. They often use portable equipment such as electronic keyboards or computer-generated music with large speakers. WELS Home Missions offers additional grants of up to $2,000 to home mission churches that are looking to purchase keyboards and other instruments, sound equipment, software, etc., to enhance their worship services.

Learn more and give a gift to support musical assistance grants today at tasteofmissions.com/give.

Winners for the High School Poster Contest

Congratulations to the two winners of the Taste of Missions High School poster contest! The Home Missions winner is Natalie Matzke from Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School in New Ulm, Minn. The World Missions winner is Liz Kuehner from Luther High School in Onalaska, Wis. In addition to winning a Taste of Missions swag bag and $250 Amazon gift cards, both winners' artwork will be displayed at Taste of Missions and be included in the event program.

Thank you to all the students who learned about WELS Home and World Missions. We received 19 incredible posters this year and loved seeing how students used their God-given gifts to highlight mission work. A big thanks as well to the teachers, parents, and peers who encouraged participation! All poster submissions will be displayed at Taste of Missions on June 14, 2025, for another chance to be voted Fan Favorite by the attendees!

The Colorado District Mission Board began exploring this area in 2022. A core group of ten adults has been gathering for fellowship and Bible study while attending local festivals to share its plans for a new church. So far, 25 people have expressed interest in learning more about the mission efforts.

Faces of Faith – Mason

Faces of Faith – Mason

In 2023, the new mission in North Liberty, Iowa, started a campus ministry program at the University of Iowa and the surrounding colleges. What I didn’t expect was Eastern Iowa to be a location that was prime to inspire young men to be pastors . . .

Two years ago, Mason was a student at Kirkwood College, beginning to study Beef Science Management. Through regular campus ministry and church attendance, Mason felt he was being called elsewhere. Read more about Mason's amazing story and journey as he considers going on to become a pastor.
