On Saturday, July 26, 2025, Huntersville Lutheran Church in Huntersville, N.C., dedicated its new facility with a worship service. The purpose of their new facility is more than just the square footage and number of rooms. Its purpose is to provide a place for people to learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ and a place for future generations to hear that good news.

Last weekend, a group of home missionaries gathered at Carbon Valley Lutheran in Firestone, Colo., for the Church Planter Intensive weekend. This extended weekend seminar encourages and equips pastors who are called to plant new home mission churches. During their time together, they work to establishing a few things for their new mission, such as talking through church planting principles, establishing some big picture benchmarks or outreach activities, asking questions about starting a new mission from experienced church planters, and networking among other new church planters.

After the intensive, new church planters are paired with a coach from an established mission church to guide them during their first two years of launching a new church. Home Missionary Joel Schulz (Divine Savior Church) leads that portion of the program.
