The conference planning team is thrilled to announce the theme of the
2019 WELS Women’s Ministry Conference:
Living Stones, Positioned to Thrive

Women's Ministry Conference

Conference Theme

 Living Stones, Positioned to Thrive

Based on 1 Peter 2:4-5, the conference will highlight God’s design and purpose for the Christian woman in our society today. From openly speaking about Jesus at work or on the college campus, to reaching out in love to another generation, to working with others in God’s kingdom, each woman is uniquely and purposefully in that place by God’s design.
Even when it’s difficult. Even when it’s lonely. Even when it doesn’t make sense.

With God’s Word, this conference will nurture, encourage and equip you to see how God intends for you to thrive in the unique situation He has placed you in. Speakers include: Pastor Mike Novotny, Naomi Schmidt, Lori Lorig, Mike Westendorf, Jenna Keller, and many more.

Mark your calendar. We look forward to seeing you July 18-20, 2019!

As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him—You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:4-5

Devotions – Living Stones

You Also

It feels so good to be invited. To be asked or included. To be chosen.

We all long for the moment someone says, “Hey, can you come?”

“Will you be a part of this?”

“We need you.”

The opposite is true as well. It feels bad not to be asked. Not to be invited. Not to be included. Exclusion is the worst.

God knew that.

That’s why He has invited us into His Kingdom and His work. That’s why He gave us a family through Jesus. That’s why He gives us purpose in the lives of those around us. That’s why He’s given us gifts and talents no one else has. He wants us to know Jesus purchased and redeemed us for a reason and we are invited to be a part of it.

“You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house.” I Peter 2:5.

This verse gives a picture of what God has planned. Because of Jesus, we are a part of something God is building.

Stop there for a moment… God. Is. Building. It.

Because of Jesus, we are invited to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. We can’t even imagine what it looks like, we just know we want to be there. That’s the best invitation ever.

One could say a “living stone” is a Christian woman who uses her God-given gifts and talents to build up God’s kingdom and bless those around her, wherever that may be.

“You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house.”

You are a living stone. God’s living stone.

You are invited. You are included.

You also, with others, are a part of God’s spiritual house.

This will be the focus of the 2019 WELS WMConference. God’s women, in various ways and in various places, using what God has given them, for God’s purpose. Living Stones: Positioned to Thrive!

It feels so good to be invited.
