Hymnal resources well received at Lutheran Leadership Conference

Dear Friend in Jesus,

WELS’ new hymnal resources were introduced—and well received—at last month’s Lutheran Leadership Conference in Chicago. As Rev. Michael Schultz, director of the WELS Hymnal Project, was demonstrating the features of Christian Worship: Service Builder, there were “oohs” and “aahs” and spontaneous applause. Several people said that the energy in the packed room of 800 reminded them of Steve Jobs doing a new Apple product rollout! (Watch a demo to see what the buzz is about—how Service Builder makes it possible to plan a service and produce a worship folder in about a minute.)

In addition to the Service Builder software, a couple other powerful digital resources are being produced:

  • Christian Worship: Musician’s Resource provides digital scores for a wide variety of instruments to make it easy for musicians to accompany hymns and liturgy.
  • The personal edition of the hymnal is a mobile app with hymnal content, including audio files, that people can use in personal worship of our Lord or small group devotions.

So far, we are just under halfway to the goal of $500,000 to cover development costs for all three resources. Please consider donating today to enable the full and timely production of these digital products that will help congregations, musicians, and worshipers praise our Savior and receive his gospel in Word and sacraments.

Serving on behalf of you, in Christ,
Rev. Bryan Gerlach
Director, WELS Commission on Worship
