SAVE THE DATE
WELS Virtual Campus Ministry Conference
August 10, 2020
We cordially invite all campus ministry pastors and anyone interested in getting involved in WELS Campus Ministry to save the date for the 2020 Virtual Campus Ministry Conference being held on Monday, August 10, 2020, beginning at 6:30 p.m. CT.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. One hundred years ago, college students began the “Roaring Twenties” by meeting together as the Spanish Flu raged on – but they had the blessing of God’s Word to focus them on Christ Jesus. One hundred years later, college students endure COVID-19 and still have God’s Word to bring them salvation in Christ alone. Communication styles have changed from postal service and telephone to email, Facebook, and other social media platforms. How can we effectively minister to students today using technology? Join us on August 10 to learn more.

Effective Ways to Recruit/Engage College Students Using Technology
Reaching college students with the saving name of Christ sometimes can feel like an insurmountable challenge. Will they be interested? Will they just turn away? What will make them want to ask questions and be part of our campus ministries? See how you can apply digital and non-digital techniques to pique students’ interest and keep them engaged in your community using a defined plan. In ever-changing times, we’ll take a look at some ways we can bring God’s Word to our young adults including through social media, traditional and non-traditional outreach ideas, communication techniques, and strategy and planning guides.

Campus Ministry 100 – Celebrate with us!
In 1920, the first campus ministry program began at the University of Wisconsin—Madison. For 100 years, thousands of young adults have found spiritual comfort, community, and encouragement through WELS campus ministries around North America. As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, we need your help in communicating the many blessings that come from WELS Campus Ministry. Marissa Krogmann, WELS Missions Promotions Manager, will walk through the various resources that are available for you to use in promoting campus ministry at your own congregation and the congregations around you. In addition, she will walk through the new Campus Ministry 100 toolkit and explain how any congregation, no matter their location, can be involved in campus ministry.
YOU WON’T WANT TO MISS THIS!
We pray that this virtual event will result in many more campus pastors, leaders, students, and supporters becoming familiar with many WELS resources that are available for your campus ministry. Join us for spiritual encouragement, tips, suggestions, and ideas to make the campus ministry in your corner of the world more engaging.
