Return to Wittenberg 2017 Conference
July 18-21, 2017
Our conference this year will be in celebration of the 500th anniversary of the reformation.
About Return to Wittenberg:
This organization is comprised of pastors and laymen committed to promoting and strengthening a confessional understanding of the Lutheran faith.
Location: Wisconsin Lutheran College, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Theme: “Liberated” is focused on making the connection between how we are “Liberated” from sin, death, and the devil in Christ, and how the church was “Liberated” from her enemies in the historical event of the Reformation.
The conference offers a unique opportunity for laymen to study theology on a deeper level along-side pastors, similarly to what pastors do at pastors’ conferences.
Schedule: To be determined soon.
- How Christ liberates souls from the bondage of sin through the use of the keys
- How we are liberated to do good works as it relates to the third use and sanctification as well as vocational theology
- An overview of the eschatology of Revelation pointing out the view of Luther in Revelation 14 and the overthrow of the Antichrist
- A general overview of the doctrine of the Antichrist.
This will be accompanied by multiple worship opportunities that will tie the main themes together in practice, with 2 Divine serves at the open and close of the conference as well as matins, vespers, and compline throughout the conference.
