
2023 CESE Conference
August 1, 2023
The 2023 CESE Conference will give teachers the opportunity to “attend” 3 different ways.
1. In-person
This choice allows teachers to attend the conference and interact with the presenter as well as fellow teachers on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
The in-person conference will be held at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School in Jackson, WI. (KMLS is south of Hwy 60 and east of Jackson.)
2. Virtual
This choice allows teachers who cannot or choose not to attend in-person to enjoy the conference on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. The link will be sent a day or two before the conference.
3. Recorded
This choice allows teachers who are unable to attend on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 to view the conference at a later date. The link will be sent out a few days after the conference.
Speaker: Anna Geiger, M.Ed.
Anna Geiger has WELS classroom experience from first through fifth grade. After earning her Master’s degree in Curriculum Instruction, she began caring for her children at home. Now, Anna serves educators through her website, The Measured Mom, where she shares hands-on lessons, thoughtful articles, and printable resources.
Topic: Putting the Science of Reading into Action
In this four-part presentation, you’ll learn exactly what the science of reading says about how we learn to read and how to teach reading.
At the end of this workshop participants will:
1. Understand what the science of reading says about how we learn to read and how to teach reading.
2. Learn powerful ways to build phonemic awareness, phonics skills, and language comprehension.
3. Discover how to use easy assessment tools to guide instruction.
4. Get practical ways to apply the science of reading in middle and high school.
