Biography: Wayne Mueller

Wayne Mueller is the first vice president of the WELS. In service to the president, he prepares the agendas for the Synodical Council and the Ministry Operations Team. He alternates with the president at all board and commission meetings, and is chairman of the Commission on Communication and Financial Services. Pastor Mueller served parishes in Illinois and Wisconsin before becoming a professor at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 1984. For eleven years he was the administrator for Parish Services before being elected vice president in 2001. Wayne and his wife Barb live in rural Ixonia and belong to St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Ixonia. They have five adult children and twin girls attending Luther Prep School.
